Bible Note: Jimmy, How is 9/11 any more of a sign and wonder than the nuclear bombs used in Japan? Or countless other attacks of one nation, group, or person upon another? Is the ability to send a "suicide" attacker, whether with bomb, bullet, bus, or airliner the "signs and wonders" that Jesus was talking about? That's not the Biblical context, as Jesus and the apostles showed "signs and wonders" to verify their message. Their signs were miracles, not bombings. Anyone can build a bomb, or fly a plane into a building. As I said, I am not very familiar with the Quran, as I use the majority of my time in Bible study. It seems to me that you are trying to fit the Muslims into a mold in which they may not exactly fit. If you want to make Osama bin Laden to be the anti-christ, (by which I am assuming that you mean the beast from the sea, as spoken of in the Revelation, since this is what most people mean when they say "antichrist"), he has not done those things that would qualify him to be Biblically identified as such, so anything else is simply speculation. Is Osama a false Christ? I haven't seen that evidence from him, but if you have, ok. Is Osama the "prince that is to come"? Does he strike you as the one Isreal will make their covenant with? The beasts from the sea and the earth will do miracles, including calling fire down from the sky. Jesus said false Christs would do signs and wonders, to deceive even the elect! Does anyone in Isreal even suspect that Osama bin Laden is their Messiah? Or from the other standpoint, does anyone in the Church suspect he is Jesus? Not to my knowledge. He is a terrorist; one of many. So if these "signs and wonders" are to deceive the elect, well, they are not working very well. I already knew you disagreed with me. You presented your thoughts, and asked if anyone disagreed. Did you do that so that you could use me as your soapbox, or because you honestly wanted to hear another's opinion? It is a simple thing to say that someone who disagrees with you is deceived. It is a much more difficult thing to authenticate your claims. Love in Christ, Mark |
