Subject: when will jesus christ return |
Bible Note: Hi Norm, The return of the Lord, as a thief in the night, is the term used to express what his return will be like to those who aren’t looking for him. I Thes. 5:3 mentions the word, they and them, which is a ref. to unbelievers. 1 Thes. 5:3 For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. Verse 4 shows the believers that the Lord’s return won’t be like a thief, to those who are looking for him. 1 Thes. 5:4 But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. Paul had explained the conditions and signs that would be present, before the Lord’s return to the Thes. 2 Thes. 2:5 Remember ye not, that, when I was yet with you, I told you these things? There are numerous passages in scripture that explain the conditions and signs that will come to pass right up to the Lord’s return but people like to twist them around to mean something different even in the face of warning! Matthew 24:11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Mark 13:4-5 Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign when all these things shall be fulfilled? 5And Jesus answering them began to say, Take heed lest any man deceive you: 2 Thes. 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; Have a great day, CDBJ |
