Subject: New church? |
Bible Note: EdB. You are so right. I am reminded of the Scripture in St. Jihn that says true worshipers must worship in Spirit and Truth. I too agree that a good number of "Christian singers" are hard to tell by their lives and music who it is they are singing for and about. This summer one popular song played on a Christian station here had the words "I am ok" over and over. I heard no redemptive quality in the words or melody, and she sang like a rap singer! That is garbage as far as I am concerned. Perhaps one thing we should consider is the singer. There are Christians who entertain, and Christians who have a ministery. I recall a small young lady who was called "Evey" and she was the latter. However "little Richard" was a phoney and his testimony that TBN played over and over a good long time ago proved to be nothing but a lie. I dislike "Christian Rap" music more than I can find words to express. That just is not music in any way known to mankind. Perhaps the ultimate award for messed up theological music content goes to " He's got the whole world in His hands". I remember it being played everywhere. This was a song that brought out the warm fuzzy feelings of being in Gods hands. By the way I once heard "Bridge over troubled waters" song in church. Do you remember the song that said "what will be will be"? This thinking is not in the Lords scheme of things. Well Ed, "may the force be with you". justme |
