Bible Question:
At times God is saddened. Saddened maybe, but not disappointed. How can we disappoint the One who knew everything about us from beginning to end, before we were ever born? Disappoint -- "to fail to meet the expectation or hope of" (http://www.m-w.com/cgi-bin/dictionary). How could the omniscient God expect or hope something of me that He knew from eternity was not going to happen? Not trying to be argumentative, Ed. Just offering something for us to consider. Bible Answer: Radioman2 Again since God first made the analogy I will certainly use it, that being our Father and we His children. God leads us and trains us and expects us to learn, just as a human father does his child. When we display traits that show we haven’t learned our lesson I think it saddens and even disappoints God, however it does not effect His overall scheme of things nor did it surprise Him. Once more we find ourselves trying to explain God and quite frankly man can’t do that. God is God. God allows man to have choice but God also knows what the choice is and how to make it not effect His plan in the slightest. When we as humans make a plan and something changes within the plan it effects our overall plan. However God being God doesn’t have that problem. How does God do this? I don’t know but I do know that is what makes Him God. When we as mere mortals try to explain God within our dimensions of time, space, etc we fall miserably short because none of these things effect God. God is so far beyond our understanding we have no concept of being able to stand and see Creation, the Birth of Jesus, the Death of Jesus, the Resurrection, the Reformation, Today, Tomorrow, and Revelations future. We have no concept of enabling people to react to situations yet not being surprised by their reaction or not knowing that was exactly what they were going to do. The future is no more a mystery to God than the past was. How do we explain or try to limit God, that can see both the creation and final end of earth at the same time, by explaining his abilities to deal with out reactions in human limits? We can’t. God said believe or trust as a child. Have you ever seen a child fascinated with something they have never seen before? They don’t try to understand it, conceptualize it or explain it, they merely enjoy it. Why can’t we just enjoy God the Father without trying to understand Him, conceptualize Him or explain Him? EdB |
