Subject: what type of book is the bible, research |
Bible Note: M.Draves, I could not find some of the answers that you asked. I lack the tools to search some of them, please feel free to enlighten me on some good tools for theories (JEPD). I couldn't find words like TaNak, or mashal (except for mashal being a village in Asher located in the plain south of Acre) I wonder if TaNak has to do with "divisions", according to your hint??? Torah... The first five books of the OT, the Law of Moses Neviim... known as the 2nd division of the OT, the prophets. Kethuvim... known as the 3rd division of the OT, the writings The Septuagint is a greek translation of the Hebrew OT scriptures. The portion of books rejected by the Proestants are called Apocrypha. Could'n find what the Roman Catholics call it. the classification of the writings that were written first... The Pentateuch(???) Author of the only Historical book in the NT... Luke Non excepted book for NT... the gospel of Thomas Well that is what I could come up with, maybe you see why I wanted to know HOW to research properly. I am always open for suggestions and references. Peace, G. |
