Bible Question: I have just finished reading Acts 27 and 28. What books in the bible would I find what happened to Paul next. And was this (in Acts 28) the time in Rome when he was put to death. |
Bible Answer: Dee1Rose - You won't find an account of Paul's death in Scripture. You'll have to resort to secular accounts for that, and even then you won't be able to find a definitive answer; accounts vary. One tradition tells of Paul's execution in Rome. Another tells that he traveled to Spain. The New Testament emphasis is on Paul's calling to be an apostle of Jesus Christ, on his life, not his death. On his faith, his hardships, his missionary work; in short, his carrying out of his mission as a bond-servant of the Lord Jesus Christ. ...... Perhaps our focus should be on his life lived for Christ and his dedicated work in His service. In no way, however, am I being critical of your question about his death, I assure you. ...... It's interesting to observe that the New Testament gives a great deal of attention to the death of Jesus and, except for a brief mention of Judas Iscariot's death, none to the Apostles. Why, do you suppose? --Hank |
