Bible Question:
Greetings AO! First of all, which of the Scriptures that you cited mention anything other than idols? Secondly, Mt. 23:5 has to do with things done for the wrong reasons, not with jewlery. Using this line of arguement, one would have to argue that it is wrong to sit at a table! :-) So, where does Scripture say that someone cannot wear any kind of jewlery? Bible Answer: Tim, The scripture references apply to idols; the topic of this discussion. You believe that religious symbols made into jewelry are excluded yet offer no scriptural support. Whether "WWJD" braclets, "christian fish" or a 6" rapper cross pendant, they all are religious symbols designed to carry a message, created by man and subject to MT 23:5. In the end, Christians must follow scripture in handling the topic rather than public opinion. AO |
