Bible Note: "Scripture is not open to private interpretation. Don't you agree?" According to 2 Peter 1:20 there are no private interpretations. No scripture can ever mean more or less than it meant to the author who penned it and to the people to whom it was written. "Do reasoning always agree with faith?" You will have to clarify this. It is not clear what you are asking. All of scripture is true, but not all truth is in scripture. Logic springs from the very nature of God. We are made in His image in that we are cognitive, emotive, and volitional. Our faith is solidly grounded in a rational and consistent world view. We believe on the basis of the testimony of eye-witnesses. God even calls us to Himself with "come let us reason together." When we are offered something to believe that defies logic, then we are usually missing something. I guess you'll have to ask your second question again a bit more clearly. If you would include some examples, that would be helpful. In Him, Doc |
