Bible Question:
DT, You said "scripture is always chronological in nature. The correct interpretation" ... then "Genesis 1 is a thumbnail sketch of creation. Genesis zeros in on the beginning of the God's redemptive story." So which is it? Does chapter 2 follow chapter 1 chronologically, therefore two creations ... or is chapter 2 recounting chapter 1? |
Bible Answer: I have to say that it seems to me that Ch 2 should instead start at 2:4 and ch1 should continue through 2:3 and that they seem like 2 recountings of creation. keep in mind that Genesis was the oral tradition of Israel that had been kept for hundreds of years, and it is possible that the first chapter (and the first 4 vs of ch2) were in actuallity not part of that tradition, but added by Moses to clear up some confusion that had been circulating at the time. but im far from informed on the subject and i need to go to work :( do a google search for it, and ill most certainly try to look for it when i get back |
