Bible Question: If the law is incapable of saving people, as Paul argued, what is the law's purpose? Romans 7:7-13:1 |
Bible Answer: Shael, This isn't an original comparison...but it is a good one. If I go out in the woods for a camping trip and return home is a few days, I can pick up a mirror and look at myself. I will see how dirty my face is...and that I need to shave. The mirror allowed me to see this. But I can't take that mirror and use it to wash and shave my face. I used to mirror to see the need. It took something else all together to get me clean! But without the mirror, Im oblivious to the need I have! Enter the law. I look into the law and see my need. But try as I may, the law is unable to meet that need. It just revealed the need. Now that I know I'm in need, I'm ready for Jesus to meet that need! 6days |
