Bible Question: i was told that there is no purgatory. is that true. if not where in the bible can i find purgatory mentioned. as always, thank you |
Bible Answer: Mike Purgatory is a catholic teaching and I won't even try to explain it. However Protestants do not hold to the teaching. To a protestant we view it as a second chance at salvation and the Bible clearly tells us there aren’t any second chances. However I’m sure the Catholics have an understanding that is more in-depth and may get around the Protestant perception of a second chance. The word purgatory does not exist in a Protestant Bible, however it may in a Catholic. Hopefully our Catholic friend and brother in the Lord Emmaus will venture into the discussion and enlighten us on the Catholic perception of Purgatory. EdB |
