Are they one entity? Many churches are split due to different opinions about this. What is the importance of this belief and what is the truth? All I know is God sacrifriced his son (not himself) and Christ prayed to the Father not himself. |
Bible Answer: Shadow, As I heard Dr. Charles Ryrie say, "the word 'Trinity' is not in the Bible, but the Doctrine is. I believe it" As Charles Spurgeon gives in his Puritan Catechism: "5. Q. Are there more Gods than one? A. There is but one only, (Deuteronomy 6:4) the living and true God. (Jeremiah 10:10) 6. Q. How many persons are there in the Godhead? A. There are three persons in the Godhead, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, and these three are one God, the same in essence, equal in power and glory. (1 John 5:7; Matthew 28:19) I hope this helps, BradK |
