Bible Answer: Dear jetti9876, (Good answer from TheFinalSQL) There is an old law stating: (Deu 22:5 KJV) The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment: for all that do so are abomination unto the LORD thy God. But we are not under the law. But, the respective positions between men and women are still in effect that God has setup from the beginning. The man will be the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church. (Eph 5:23 KJV) For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body. This has to do with the station of preeminence in the scheme of things that God has designed. Not saying that man is better than woman. It is the order of hierarchy God has put into place. Any rebuttal to this will have to be taken up with Him. The rest of your question would have to do with the society and social standards or the nationality of your tribe. The main ingredient would have to do with respect. You wouldn't go to the doctor in your dirty clothes and since your Father in Heaven should be your most important figure, it would behoove you to be well dressed out of respect to His House. You are entering into a Holy place and it would be in the best of taste to present yourself the best you can. All of this is done out of respect, but a willing heart would be more respected by our Father in Heaven no matter what you wore. Peace terrib |
