Bible Question:
It's good you referenced Jas. 1:5-8. Is one being doubleminded if you already know God's will but you want a deeper confirmation as Gideon did with "putting out the fleece"? I know in Habbakuk 2:1-3 about waiting on the vision, but in that "meantime", while waiting, you begin to doubt and grow weary.. |
Bible Answer: I would not want to judge the mind or heart of one who wanted a deeper confirmation, as Gideon did. However, regarding seeking signs, the Scriptures tell us: AMPLIFIED Matthew 16:4 A wicked and morally unfaithful generation craves a sign, but no sign shall be given to it except the sign of the prophet Jonah. Then He left them and went away. [Jonah 3:4, 5.] 1 Cor. 1:21-24 (ESV) For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. [22] For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, [23] but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, [24] but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. |
