Bible Question: I am new to bible study and this forum. I was happy to have an online friend direct me towards the online Bibles and then found this study. My question is where do I start studying. I have read the bible in different ways thoughout the years but never new how to study it. Can anyone help me to begin? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Miss Lissy! Welcome to the StudyBibleForum! There are many ways in which one can involve themselves here, and some of the ways that I have found are by Answering Questions with Biblical Answers, providing support for other posts that are written (Notes), or by asking a few of those questions that you have yourself! :-) You could also do a Search on the Forum of what has already been written, or you could look up a few of your favorite Bible verses to see what has already been written about them by other people! :-) As for how to study your Bible, there have already been several posts that have been written about that, and you may want to do a "Search" for them at the right. As for where to begin, you could start at the very 'heart' of the Word, which are the Gospels! :-) But don't just read through it this time.. Ponder each and every verse, and follow the events in the other three Gospels that mirror the events in the Book that you are reading, to see how they are similar, and compare. This is one way that you could begin your study! Another method is to do a 'character sketch' on a Bible character, and to search the Bible and learn everything possible about a particular person and how God used them. Blessings to you, Makarios |
