Bible Question: I've just started my bible study and I was reading Leviticus chapter 11 where God spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them a list of foods that were considered clean to eat and unclean; those we should not eat. Should we still eat that way today? If so, what about Mark 7:15 where is states that "There is nothing from without a man, that entering into him can defile him; but the things which come out of him, those are they that defile the man. Are they speaking of food in Mark 7 or something else? |
Bible Answer: Remember, Jesus said that He made a new covenant with us and that the old covenant with Moses was washed away. So, if you ask God to Bless the food before you eat it and believe and have faith that the Fater in Heaven will do so, then you fear eating no bad food. If that food harms your body then you must not eat it, for the body is the temple of the Holy Spirit and we defile it when we abuse our bodies. Jeus said, " It is not what goes into the mouth, but what comes out that defiles man." He was talking about words. If you think about something, but don't say it , or purt it into action, then we are all right, and must ask God to forvive us. But if we think of something bad and say it, then we have grieved the Holy Spirit and He will retreat inside us to give us a chance to ask forgiveness for what we said and to not say it again.
