Subject: Baptism by gesture or required? |
Bible Note: Baptisim is an outward show of an inward change, and we do it to be obediant to the scriptures and to represent the change from the old man/sinner to the new man/saved. Rom 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: 6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin. 7 For he that is dead is freed from sin. Baptism is the changed heart Rom. 10:9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. No sence being baptised if your not willing to except Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal savier. All your doing is going down a dry sinner and comming up a wet sinner. Someone said it's like taking a bath with your dirty clothes on. Focus on the soul having a renewing of the mind, baptism is a symble of that. Hope this helps, Carol |
