Bible Question: My question is about guilt. Jesus died and rose and forgave our sins, but does that mean we shouldn't feel guilty for them anymore? I always feel the need to set right what i've done wrong, by apologising etc, but should i really be accepting that all that guilt is gone, and not feel troubled by it anymore? Thanks |
Bible Answer: Hello, and welcome to the forum. God isn’t at all impressed with our guilt feeling over our sins. All He is impressed with is what His Son did for sin, and what Jesus did was for was for all of our sins. Matthew 17:5 While he yet spake, behold, a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear ye him. Put all of your confidence in what Jesus has done for you and Thank God the Father for sending Him! John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. 1 John 5:10-13 He that believeth on the Son of God hath the witness in himself: he that believeth not God hath made him a liar; because he believeth not the record that God gave of his Son. [11] And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. [12] He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life. [13] These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
