Subject: Did the Holy Spirit inspire Scripture |
Bible Note: Hi, I read your personal profile and you sure have your hands full. I hope you don’t get bogged down by trying to do the work that the Holy Spirit of God is doing. I use to beat myself up with trying to convince people of the Gospel until the truth of the following finally sank in; and I mean there were many tearful hours. John 16:7-9 Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. 8And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment: 9Of sin, because they believe not on me; We never have to defend the Word of God, even to an atheist, it’s a weapon. Weapons are not defended; they are used against the enemy. I also use to be quite perplexed about the same side issues that you mentioned, “Different interpretations on the same scripture (such as pre-trib, post trib, rapture, so on), albeit, they may be side issues.” I read a book that cleared it all up for me and you might want to check it out? It’s not for someone that doesn’t like to read though because it has over 500 pages! The Sign by Robert Van Kampen ISBN 0-89107-756-1 CDBJ |
