Bible Question: Why isn't God's name used in the New Tesament? Even in the instances that the New Testament quotes the Old Testament, God's name isn't used (Compare Mark 12:36 with Psalms 110:1, or Hebrews 8:8-11 with Jeremiah 31:31-34). I ask this in order to refute an attack on the authority of scripture, particularily the New Testament. Thanks. |
Bible Answer: "Jesus" means "Jehovah (YHWH, ADONAI) saves". She will give birth to a son, and you are to name him Yeshua, [which means 'ADONAI saves,'] because he will save his people from their sins." Matthew 1:21 The Complete Jewish Bible |
