Subject: Why 4 Gospels? |
Bible Note: Who says that the so called "Gospel" of Thomas is authentic? Certainly not by the Council of Carthage in A.D. 397. (1) Was the book written or approved by an apostle? (2) Were its contents of a spiritual nature? (3) Did it give evidence of being inspired by God? (4) Was it widely received by the churches? The so-called "Gospel" of Thomas fails in all but the first category, that is, if you truly believe that Thomas wrote this book. The manuscript weight of this book is nowhere near that of the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, which have every right and should be included in the Holy Bible, which is God's Word.
