Bible Question: What is the importance of having 4 Gospels instead of 1? |
Bible Answer: this is a great question! the answer is God had them written for different reasons. MATTHEW is the gospel of "the King" and is intended for a jewish reader. The geneology is there because a king needs one, and also to show the fulfillment of the prophecy that Christ will come from Judah through David therefore He is the comming King... and jews needed to read about the signs and wonders he preformed (because Jews want signs in order to believe). MARK is the gospel of the "Perfect Servant" and is primarily for Gentiles. LUKE is the gospel of the "Perfect Man" again it is primarilly for Gentiles. JOHN is the gospel of "The Son of God" and shows the deity of Christ. |
