Bible Question: I'm trying to find out what the word Kyros means. I believe it is greek. |
Bible Answer: Greetings, and welcome to the forum. You had the right pronunciation but the word in the Koine Greek is spelled KAIROS. It sounds like kahee-ros'; of uncertain affinity; an occasion, i.e. set or proper time - always, opportunity, (convenient, due) season, (due, short, while) time, a while; an example of it’s use is in Matthew. Matthew 24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this TIME, no, nor ever shall be. It is used as, always, opportunity, seasons, time, and while. |
