Subject: 2Kings |
Bible Note: If you caught the drift of the entire context of the conversation, you found that I was searching at first for the Kings of Israel and Judah, and then the relationship that Amon had with his son, Josiah. Spurring first graders on to good works and OBEDIENCE to God regardless proves difficult at times. At 8, Josiah, followed after King David's heart, who had a whole heart for God which meant he had to break the generational curse that he had been dealt by his forefathers, esp. Amon. Telling young children that they too can obey God and He will bless them regardless of how mean their parents are or how they may curse God. I prayed with them that they will follow after God in obedience so that God will do all they ask according to His will. Of course, in terms they could undertand. One of those children could not be there b/c church is a form of punishment for him for his parent is a drug dealer and very mean. My job is to tell them of God's love and protection for them, and to tell them of his promises to bless their obedience. As adults, we learn often the hard way that blessing and confirmation come only after the obedience. Thanks for your comment. |
