Bible Question (short): ALL Scripture Inspired by God? |
Question (full): Ischus: In your post #116014 in response to EdB, in referring to the matter of Scripture's inspiration, you use the term "middle ground." What do you mean by it? ..... Suppose we put the cards on the table, cut to the chase, and consider whether the following statement is absolutely true: "All Scripture is inspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; so that the man of God may be adequate, equipped for every good work." [2 Timothy 3:16,17]. Does this statement appear to you to take an either/or approach, i.e., one either believes it or he does not believe it? Or does it, in your opinion, leave open a "middle ground" in which one can "philosophize" about whether some parts of Scripture are inspired and others not? I'm going to ask you a direct question, ischus. It is one that can be answered simply by a yes or a no. Do you fully believe and accept these six words as being absolutely true: "ALL Scripture is inspired by God"? As I say, the question can be answered by a simple yes or no. It doesn't require a "Yes, but..." or a "No, because..." So please answer this question. Let's stop all the double talk, let's cut out all the mumbo jumbo, let's cease beating around the bush on this crucial issue. It's brass tacks time, ischus. Please answer the question. --Hank |
