Bible Question: I am a lesbian and I am concerned if my soul is bound for hell? I am a firm beliver and I have excepted christ as my savior. |
Bible Answer: God's word says, John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. The next thing that I would ask is, do you fully understand what it means to believe in God's Son? A lot of people don't really know what it means to BELIEVE. Paul says that there are some that are deluded in their thinking. 2 Cor. 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates? There would be some who would rake you over the coals with Scripture, as it were, but truth be known we all have our little area of pet sins; everyone just likes to think that their brand is a little more refined then everyone else's; you are just more brave to mention yours. When we all come to Christ there are areas that the Lord likes to deal with. God's Word tells us that we are new creatures in Christ. 2 Cor. 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. The best thing that I can tell you is to study God's Word as much as you can and pray that God will do what He wants to in your life. Give yourself totally over to the Lord and let Him shape you through his Word. If we try to clean up our own life it won't work no matter what the sins are in our lives; sooner later we will be right back where we started if it isn't the Lord doing the work. 2 Peter 2:17-22 These are wells without water, clouds that are carried with a tempest; to whom the mist of darkness is reserved for ever. 18For when they speak great swelling words of vanity, they allure through the lusts of the flesh, through much wantonness, those that were clean escaped from them who live in error. 19While they promise them liberty, they themselves are the servants of corruption: for of whom a man is overcome, of the same is he brought in bondage. 20For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. 21For it had been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than, after they have known it, to turn from the holy commandment delivered unto them. 22But it is happened unto them according to the true proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire. I pray the Lord will help you in your study as He has me, CDBJ Ephes. 3:14-21 For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man; 17That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, 18May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; 19And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God. 20Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, 21Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen. |
