Bible Answer: Men2ring, Some of these verses have their own string. Plus, there are other verses. Never does the Scripture give us grounds for telling either a lie or a half-truth. The reason for this is because God is true and his nature is truth itself. Anything less than this is a denial of him as God. Nowhere does it justify the lie or moralize the event. Exodus 1:21 specifically says that Shiphrah and Puah were blessed of the Lord because they "feared God," not because they lied. Sin does not just effect your own life, beit a lie or something else ... it effects others. Steve |
