Subject: once saved, always saved. |
Bible Note: Greetings Jmr! How do I explain Gal. 1:3-4? The word that the NASB tranlates as 'that...might' is the Greek word 'hopos - Strong's # 3704' is a word that expresses purpose, not doubt. Jesus gave Himself for us our sins, for the purpose of delivering us out of this present evil age. The NASB translation uses "that He might" to express purpose, not doubt. The NIV translates is this way: Gal. 1:3-4 - "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, 4 who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father," I hope this helps!
