Bible Question: The other day at work, a young woman, a new Christian, asked me why Catholics do not eat meat during Lent. I had no answer for her. Is there anyone out there who can answer this question? |
Bible Answer: In my opinion when a Catholic says they don't eat meat on Fridays during lent, they are stating a falacy. The fact that they eat fish on Friday's during lent proves that they indeed do eat meat. The flesh of a fish is just as much meat as is the flesh of chicken. When I go to the grocery store, I have to go to the meat counter to buy fish. I don't see anything wrong with anyone who chooses to eat fish, on Friday's during Lent, just don't try to tell me you don't eat meat. That's not a totally factual statement. |
