Bible Question: I thank you for rthe interaction of those of faith it has broaden my scope and view.If he died again at another time as I am certain that is true I am wondering why Jesus said this sickness is not unto death what was the meaning of that. |
Bible Answer: I think that for purpose of clarification a good understanding of the word death should come into focus. The word for death in the Koine Greek is the word THANATOS and it meant separation. Example, physical death would be your soul separated from your body. Spiritual death would be separation from God, etc. It is my understanding that what Jesus was saying, John 11:4 When Jesus heard that, he said, This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby. This sickness is not for the eternal purpose of separating the soul from the body but for the purpose of glorifying the Son of God and to show just exactly who he is. This is the way I see it, CDBJ |
