Bible Question: What is the diference between sin, sins, iniquity, and dead works? |
Bible Answer: I'm not sure there is much difference between sin and sin. Although remember there is the sin which we actually commit ourselves in addition to the sin nature we inherited by imputation from Adam. Iniquity just seems like another name for our personal sins which we commit. Dead works is sinful in only an indirect way. Dead works are the works we do to try and earn merit before God. They might even be good works, but in terms of making us right with God they are totally dead because they are not from faith. |
