Bible Question: Is the "stations of the cross" just a Catholic observance or observed by all Christians? |
Bible Answer: Dear Dmaldona, I am a born again Christian who has been formerly raised as a Roman Catholic. As far as I know The stations of the cross are only observed by Roman Catholics. It is a beautiful tradition and a worthy exercise in that it calls the believer to meditate on the suffering and death of Our Lord, Jesus Christ, but it is not biblically taught so it would be foreign to most Protestant (if not all) denominations. I do not know if the Eastern rite (such as the Greek Orthodox Church) has this tradition...it is possible. If there are any born again Christians in this forum who are originally from the Greek Orthodox tradition, I would be curious to know if they also have such tradition. Itiswritten. |
