Bible Question: Where does Scripture prophesy the rebuilding of a temple in Israel, other than those which have ALREADY been fulfilled? |
Bible Answer: It is commonly thought that another temple will be built, either prior to, or during the so-called "Great Tribulation." But a straightforward, literal interpretation of the Bible reveals no temple in Jerusalem after the one Herod built during the days of Christ 2000 years ago. Also, the Bible does not reveal a future seven year "Great Tribulation," which derives from what seems to be a mis-interpretation of Matthew 24 and Daniel 9. The time when tribulation would be great, which our Lord Jesus Christ spoke of in Matthew 24, was the time of vengeance against the unbelieving part of Israel in A.D.70. Most of Daniel's predictions in chapter nine were fulfilled during Christ's time, and within about forty years after. Daniel never prophesied of a future seven year "Great Tribulation" because, according to Luke 21:22, all Old Testament prophecies were fulfilled by the end of the that war in A.D.70. |
