Bible Question: Hello everone hope you are having a great day in the Lord...I am corresponding with an inmate that is covered in tattoo's and as he has recieved Jesus Christ into his life he is feeling ashamed of the marks all over his body...I want to reach out to him and lift him up in the Lord but seem to be stumped and at a loss for the right words...could you please give some scriptures and pray for our brother behind bars as he is really having a battle...God Bless |
Bible Answer: Dear Christian7, Please tell your friend that Romans 8:28 applies even to his tattoos. It does not matter what he did before, only what he does from now on. And remember also that this body will not go with us into eternity. I Cor. 15: 51-58 tells us about what will happen when Jesus comes. It reminds us that this body will not go on; we will be changed and that means this body will be also changed. The Just shall live by Faith [Rom. 1:17] Abraham was made righteous simply because he believed God [Rom 4:3] See also Romans 5:17-18 Remind him also that he is to mind the things of the Spirit...not of the flesh Romans 8:4. Remind your friend also of Romans 10:3-9. See also Romans 14:17 and II Corinthians 5:21; Galatians 3:6; Ephesians 4:24-32; Eph. 5:9-10; 2 Timothy 3:16; and Titus 3:5-9 I know that this is a lot and I hope through it your brother in Christ will be set free. Our answers are always somewhere in the Word of the Lord. I will keep you both in my prayers. Sincerely in Christ, for I believe he is merely experiencing an attack from the evil one which is designed to keep him from having fruit. We need to keep our eyes on Jesus and His Word and carry on with what Jesus would have us to be doing in learning and growing in Him that He may use us is some small way in His kingdom. And one more thing. The marks on his body will simply serve to remind him of is past sinful life. He can use this to realize it will keep him humble before the Lord and can actually open doors to persons that would not otherwise listen to the Gospel and at the same time the victories the Lord may give him will also remind him it is not himself but the Lord. It may even be a sign that the Lord will use him mightily for He has a great tool to keep him humble. I hope I have been able to be of some assistance. Sincerely in Christ Jesus, Itiswritten. |
