Bible Question: Hank, I agree that the internet cannot replace the church. I get allot out of it but by the same token it tends to be too easy, and at times can make one lazy to the point of thinking they don't need to attend a church. This is a confession. This is where I've been for months now. I know I belong back at my home church but just can't muster up the will. Could you give me some encouraging words? Outside of the Lord's conviction I do need a fellow believer to give me a nudge. The reason I did'nt suggest finding a church to Kaydulce is because I felt like a hypocrite. Russ |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Heb 10:23-25 "Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful; (24) and let us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, (25) not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Russ, let me give you some thoughts. When I read your post, this passage came to mind. We do need to gather together. There are many around the world who yearn to meet with another believer and they do it at great risk or are unable. When I was in the Army ... I had to go to the field. There was no opporunity to meet with a brother, even on Sunday. I wanted to ... so I could share my thoughts, to be encouraged, to pray and more. When I got back to the main base, I sought a Christian brother and went to church at the first chance. Paul prayer (Eph 3:14-21) coms to mind as well as the passge that follows (Eph 4:1-16). In closing remember "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another" (Pro 27:17). Searcher |
