Subject: revelations prediction or history |
Bible Note: Dear Brother, I have been hearing people's opinions on this topic for over 20 years. I must confess that I am no longer influenced by them. These erstwhile forecasters or self-styled interpreters interpret Scripture based on the daily news. This (imho) is a poor method for obtaining God's truth. The reason I say it is a poor method, is because the news changes but the Scripture does not change. What seems like a fulfillment of prophecy on Evening News may be overthrown on Good Morning America! You wrote: "My concern is in the fact that the beast or anti-Christ must be among us. When you look at the prophecies and consider how the world is today should we trust anyone in power?" I would address your concern regarding the "beast" or "anti-christ" by saying that the spirit of anti-christ has always been with us. Secondly: our trust (ultimately) must rest with Him who has been given all power and authority. Jesus Christ. I do not mean to be-little your concern in a personal way, but I am weary of the exploitation by apocryphal books and movies that proclaim to be the truth but fail to do so. They are an offense and cause far more confusion and unbelief than any (supposed) good. Jesus said "Sufficient to the day is the evil therof". I pray God will enable all of us to take His words to heart. John Reformed |
