Bible Note: In that case, quote the biblical story of creation, found in Genesis 1 and 2. If your colleages challenge that as opinion, point out to them who may wish to quote Darwin or any other disciple of secular humanism that their views are no less "opinion" than biblical views. The Bible does state clearly that God created the heavens and the earth and everything therein, but the problem is this: Are your colleagues in this joint effort prepared to accept the premise that the Bible is the inerrant word of God? Essay by committee is a new wrinkle since I sat in an English class! But the King James Bible, which has been called the noblest monument to English prose, was written (translated into English) by committee and it's done quite well for itself. So I wish the quintet of you English 101 students do as well! If you want scriptural references on God's creation in addition to the Genesis 1 and 2 account, use a good concordance, topical preferred, or consult a decent Bible dictionary, such as Harper's or Holman's, or ask of the forum. --Hank |
