Bible Question: Here is a statement from Post No. 65304: "God is now obligated." Can anyone justfy this statement by citing Scripture? Wherein does Scripture teach that we sinful human beings have the authority, the power, or the right to put God in the dock, to place, by any act of our will, the sovereign Lord under obligation of any kind? --Hank |
Bible Answer: Scripture ... Rom 5:8, 8:28-30, 9:1-29 (vs 15) ... Hank, great question and greetings. I thought of this on the way to work. Romans 9:15 came to mind (context vv 1-29). God is not under obligation to us, because we did something. While we still have to choose to confess our sins or not. We do not know who He has chosen to be like His Son (Rom 8:28-30). So He has already done His part, even before we cared (Rom 5:8) ... the rest is up to us. Searcher |
