Bible Question:
Question: Have any of you read Mary J Baxters The divine revelation of hell? iwas recently asked to read it and I started last night. when I read the first part of chap 1 I felt as if it was totally unbilical. If you feel this way do you have verses to back it up ? Anyway thanks. Passion |
Bible Answer: Hello Passion4JC This topic is not really proper for the forum, but since I read the book, I'll answer. It's basically the fruit of an over-active imagination fueled by poor doctrine. Consider the things mentioned which are not found at all in the Bible: 1) The Lord is giving a guided tour of hell. 2) The layout of hell--in the shape of a human body. 3) Spiritual beings torturing the souls of the damned. 4) A preacher being judged for not faithfully preaching the gospel. No mention is made of whether he was saved or not. 5) The author is allowed to suffer all the torment of hell for ½ hour. Number five is particularly evil, since the Lord Himself promised to be with us always (Matt 28:20). Steve |
