Subject: can women be pastors |
Bible Note: I think I follow the pattern of Christ in my question in the exact same spirit of his question...Luke 14:5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day? Or WHAT IF YOU HAVE A OX fall into a ditch on the sabbath? Yes the scripture says not to use the OX on the sabbath but you in your heart know that God is not against you getting that OX out of that ditch even though some legalist could preach a perfect sermon using the scriptures to back him up that you must not do it." Yet you know that my "what if about ministry work by women is real, it happens all over the world, and they will be blessed if they ignore condemnation from modern "pharisees" who strain at a gnat and swallow a camel in not seeing the heart message of Paul which is not that woman cannot minister the Gospel in all the gifts of God but that she should not pridefully challenge a man's authority. The context that a woman should not teach was not "a woman should not Preach and teach the word" but rather "a woman should not teach a man or in other words usurp authority over a man, or in other words, question him in a challenging dishonest way not wanting answers but wanting to provoke, and she should be humble and kind and respect her husband. This passage people love to use does not say she should not teach the bible. The words "teach, nor usurp authority" go to gether they explain each other, the teach here means to teach down at a man such as scold him as a child. has nothing to do with teaching the Bible in church or anywhere else. But this has been so misquoted it is hard for anyone to read only what it says without fitting their own words in the sentence. I do so now just to make it clear that it did not say a woman cannot preach the word. |
