Subject: Any scriptures on slain in spirit? |
Bible Note: Pam, I experience the presence of God in my life in countless ways.... in the birth of a child, in the love of my wife and children and dear friends, in sunrise and sunset, in the majesty of the Psalms, in the rain and the rainbow, in the beauty of a tree and the fragrance of a rose, in the awesome complexity of a spider's web and the masterwork of a bird's nest, in the reading and study of His blessed word, the Scriptures, in meditation, in prayer.... in all these things and a thousand more, the presence of the Almighty God is indelibly stamped on my heart. Yet through it all, I have found no difficulty in being able to stand when I chose to, or lie down in green pastures if I wished, or lie upon my couch in vacant or in pensive mood. And I have not the vaguest of clues about what that curious phrase 'slain in the spirit' (or is it Spirit?) means, and between you and me, I really don't think it matters much to me what it means. Somehow, I'm not too fond of the idea of being slain. I'd much sooner be merely a Christian. --Hank |
