Bible Question:
Do we worship on our knees and face on the ground? Yes, like the Muslims do. I do not know if their heart is in it. We need to bow our heart, in reverence, too. Have we added - praise halal-Hebrew and hallelujah-Greek - service abad-Hebrew-, latreuo and latreia-Hebrew and other words, to our definition of worship? Do we include reverence sebomai-Greek without the phyiscal activity of prostration? I think we have. Not only because of our English definition, but, the translations we have. I see very few preachers and authors teach correctly. I rarely see anyone on their knees in worship. They may be praying, not worshipping. I can say this because I have spent six months on the study of worship. I forgot all I knew, then opened the Word without any study notes. I then looked at a lexicon and concordance to help, since I do not know the original. |
Bible Answer: Greetings, Could you provide some specifics for your question? Broad questions are difficult to discuss. For instance, what words for worship did you study? What translations are in error? What teachings have you heard that were in error? This sounds like an interesting topic! Tim Moran |
