Bible Question: Is there a section that comments on proper dress for women? |
Bible Answer: Hello Lillian 1 Tim 2:9-10 Likewise, I want women to adorn themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments, [10] but rather by means of good works, as is proper for women making a claim to godliness. Some have taken this to mean that women are to NEVER braid hair, wear jewelry, or have fancy attire. And that modesty is being covered head to toe by a dress or skirt (pants being forbidden). The true intent of the passage is that a woman is to be noted more for her character than her outward appearance. Steve |
