Bible Note: Norrie Ever notice how rich TV ministries are? It would be hard to get money if they didn't teach give and you will get rich (equally false teaching). But then there was the problem with this parable so someone invented the story about the gate where it was so low that a camel would have to kneel down to get through, thus they could teach if you were rich but humble(kneeled down) you would get into the kingdom. Who invented the story, I don’t know. I’m reasonably sure that most that teach it just said, “hey, this works for me” and never bothered to investigate it to see if it was true. Truth is we can seek after only one thing with all our heart. If that one thing is money no matter how piously we do it we have lost God. If we seek after God then everything else becomes secondary especially things so temporal as money. EdB |
