Bible Question:
In 1Tim 2:15 it says: Yet woman will be saved through bearing children, if she continues in faith and love and holiness, with modesty. If a woman choose not to bear children, will that affect her salvation? |
Bible Answer: Dear Lovutoo, I don't believe not bearing children will take away from your salvation. Being a mother, I have found that the experience brings about a profound change in a woman's perspective. It is something that is nearly impossible to convey. You suddenly have this little human being, totally dependent on you, that is part of you. Where you may not have believed you were selfish, you must become totally selfless, everyday for probably 20 years, where you believed you had matured, you grow up in leaps and bounds...it is stressful but wonderful at the same time. It forces maturity that you may not have accomplished before, or, in my case anyway, it would have taken be many more years to accomplish. And you deal with personalities, with each and every child, that you may not have dealt with on the outside. All the while, you want to, where you might have procrastinated, because children grow and need and the time passes too quickly and they are grown. And so, in light of this, I believe it just matures you faster than you would without such a responsibility. Remember also, in the days in which it was written, women did not have professions to be involved with, nor education such as a man might have received. There was nothing else to do to develop her personality. Itiswritten |
