Subject: Where's the StudyBibleForum? |
Bible Note: Thanks, casiv, for your generosity in allowing me to keep the change :-)...... Now, in all seriousness, I do not think it prudent to abet you or anyone else in any attempt to resurrect the subjects of war and politics at this time. We have been only very recently engaged in a long, bitter thread on these subjects. Politics is always a volatile issue and frequently a major one with human beings, but it plays a minor chord in God's symphony. War, especially now that we are engaged in one, is likewise a hot topic and laced with strong emotional overtones. I know that I am not sufficiently qualified to speak authoritatively on war and politics as they may relate to biblical teaching. I doubt that few, if any, of us on this forum really are. Accordingly, I decline to post any further specific comment on these subjects. I have my notions and opinions, as you no doubt do, and so does everyone else. But do I post my unvarnished opinions with the vain prospect of converting others to my point of view, or do I instead prayerfully and humbly search the Scriptures in an effort to learn what they say, if anything at all, about these and all other topics being considered?.... All things considered, I honestly don't feel you've got your 50 cents worth from me, casiv, but I'll put an extra 48 cents in the offering plate on Sunday in your honor! Blessings to you. --Hank |
