Subject: Why do people lose interest and leave? |
Bible Note: Sir Pent Here is a brief summary of what I received back Well, Ed and everyone, either because the format of the forum doesn't lend itself very well to a book study of this sort, or because of my stupidity, or both, I'm having a most difficult time following in consecutive order even one book at a time, much less 66 all going at once. This would be bedlam. Unless there was some facility for storing each study of each book in consecutive order by books, I think we will end up with a mess -- mass confusion and much wasted effort. I just don't think the forum was designed to accommodate this sort of thing, even though the idea itself may not be all bad. I don't want to sound like a sour pickle-puss, but I think the idea should be scrapped and sent back to the drawing board for a closer look. I just read his post and I agree. I thought we were only at the initial brainstorming phase. I don't mind studying 1 Peter ... and there still will be questions. I think for this study to work, we need to have a link, so we can go to the Bible study. There would be sub links like 1:1-2 . 1:3-12 ... Tim, or whoever is leading would need to ask the web master to put in the sub link. This would give control. The leader would have to decide when to move on. The leader would have to ask open ended questions, which could be separate posts. We would need to limit the cut-and-paste of commentaries and "expert" views. I agree with you Ed. I think we should try out one before we start another. Charis and many others posted their view directly to the thread. I think the desire at this time is to try it with the work Tim is doing and observe the results. EdB |
