Bible Question: Looking for the Greek and Hebrew definition of "Outreach" |
Bible Answer: Welcome to the forum, have faith. The purpose for outreach is to reach those outside the church for the Lord and bring them to Him. Matt 28:19 commands us to go, which is poreuomai (Strong's 4198) in the Greek. However, there is another passage, Romans 10:13-15, which gives us a purpose. Read is in the order the events happen: -someone is sent ... we need harvesters -so they can preach ... a clear gospel message -so others can hear ... give all a chance -so they can believe ... pray they do as you go -so they can call on the Lord ... to answer His call -so they can be saved ... He saves them, not us -I don't have the gift of preaching or evangelism, but it is a joy to see someone say yes to Him. -It is important to have prayer partners for those who go. Share with them the results of the outreach. -Don't forget to make diciples of the converts. Hope this helps, Searcher |
