Bible Question:
There's a verse that says We are all to stay with our own. (not quoted) Does this mean interracial marraige? I thought about it and other than animals we've domesticated all the other ones stay with their own. Such as Robins and Blue Jays. What would be the difference in us? God made us different for some reason. Think maybe we should keep it different. I'm definitely not prejudice, just simply curious. Nesi |
Bible Answer: First of all, WHERE in the Bible does it say "we are all to stay with our own?" And what in the world do birds, dogs and cats have to do with humans who marry other humans? The posted question has already received an adequate biblical answer. The Bible does not prohibit marriage between two people because of the color of their skin. Israel was forbidden to marry Gentiles only in order to preserve the purity of their faith, i.e., so that the Israelis would not worship idols. Also a believer is prohibited from marrying an unbeliever in the NT. The only restriction in force today is based on God's original intention for marriage: that marriage should only take place between one male believer and one female believer. You can speculate about dogs, cats, birds, the meaning of the word species all you want to, but that has nothing to do with what the Bible teaches about marriage. |
