Bible Question: What constitutes a marriage in Gods eyes? Do we need a "legal" document? Isn't a converant between a man an a women and God? Where it the state come it? |
Bible Answer: Greetings Rebeccak9! The Bible never really details the process of marriage. Marriage customs are detailed, but they differ from place to place and time to time. However, marriage is never described as just being a convenant between a man and a woman, and God. Rom. 13:1-5 tells us that Christians are to submit to the governing authorities that rule over us. So, when our government requires a marriage license, we must submit to that law. Your Brother in Christ, Tim Moran |
